I’m not even kidding: As I’m writing today’s blog post, I’m drinking an organic smoothie with pear, wheatgrass, apple and kiwi! And that’s actually saying a lot, as I’m absolutely the kind of girl who enjoys the occasional okay almost DAILY glass of Prosecco and has no problems eating junk food.

But even I’ve come to see the good in treating my body right – whether it’s by trying to eat better, healthier and… yes, more organic food, or by keeping up to date with all of the beautiful new organic skincare and beauty brands that have been popping up all over the world in the last few years!

As I’ve been a beauty editor for nearly ten years now, I’ve really loved seeing so many new brands and so many great products being developed – and have incorporated a lot of «green» brands in my own make-up and skincare routines. And the best part? Very often, they’re beautifully designed!

High time for a roundup of five new skincare products with a holistic, organic and/or vegan approach. Green glam, here we come!

  1. de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm (50ml), £54.00

de Mamiel Restorative Cleansing Balm, available at Holistic Beauty Arosa

This small, independent organic beauty brand has been garnering rave reviews from all over… and now, de Mamiel is available here in Switzerland, too! De Mamiel was founded by the Australian Annee de Mamiel, who now lives in England and produces her skincare treats in small batches and by hand, using her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The «Restorative Cleansing Balm» is massaged onto dry skin, where it quickly melts and adheres to your own oils and dirt, and cleans deeply and gently. It’s removed with a warm, wet cloth – and can also be applied a bit more liberally and left so set for about 15 to 20 minutes: Instant beautifying face mask, anyone?

I really love the scent – it’s quite intense, thanks to a host of high-quality, theraputic essential oils – and really delivers a sense of well-being! Here’s a short video by De Mamiel, if you want to know more:

2. Kypris Antioxidant Dew (47ml), $67.00

Kypris Antioxidant Dew

This potent Elixir by US-based brand Kypris not only looks beautiful… it really packs a punch, too! The newly formulated Antioxidant Dew promises to «restore strength, vitality and radiance to the skin» with clinically proven actives that target and quench free radicals, while a host of botanicals calm and soothe inflammation. It’s a great layering piece and can be added to your daily moisturizer, as well as being used as a radiance booster as needed.

Organic Beauty Talk has a more in-depth review here, if you’re interested. And yes, they love it, too!

3. EcoCare Organic Face Wipes (25 cotton sheets), AUS$ 8.99

Ecocare Cleansing Wipes, via Shetime.ch

Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that they don’t look particularly sexy. But the mere fact that you can get organic, super-gentle face wipes for travel (or those days when you just simply can’t be bothered!) is pretty rad! Australian skincare brand ecocare has two versions ready for you: Apple and Honey is perfect for combination skin, while sensitive skin types can use Rose and Chamomile for a slightly gentler cleansing. Both versions can even handle waterproof mascara and are hypo-allergenic and free from parabens, alcohol, chlorine, perfume and coloring agents.

And yes, of course the wipes are made of 100% organic cotton and biodegradeable!

4. bepure Repair Haircare 5-fach Haaröl, 33 Swiss Francs at bepure

bepure Repair Haircare 5-Fach Haaröl

Yep, even your hair is getting an organic treat today! This beautifully straightforward hair oil by Swiss brand bepure is carefully blended by hand in the small town of Winterthur, using ingredients from fair trade farmers in Morocco. Cool fact: Brand owner Kathleen knows all of «her» producers personally!

This 5-in-1 hair oil contains (among other ingredients) argan oil, jojoba oil and castor oil, which deeply nourish both hair and scalp and strengthen the hair shaft, while adding lustre and shine. It can also be used as a special treat for split ends, but also as a hair mask – and yes, it washes out easily!

5. Fig + Yarrow Sugar Scrub Lemongrass & Lime, $44.00

Fig and Yarrow Sugar Scrub Lemongrass and Lime

This stuff is basically catnip for me. I can’t get enough of the smell of lemongrass! This happy, fresh scent is the reason I pretty much wish I could buy a tub big enough to lie in! Fig + Yarrow may be a bit wheeee-out-there (shamanism, veganism and founder Brandy Monique can communicate with plants?), but I love everything about this!

Goodbye, pale and dry winter skin – thanks to an organic fusion of sugar, glycolic acid, hemp seeds, coconut oil and shea butter. And now shhhh… I have to get back to sniffing the jar!

So there, organic beauty babe: That’s all for today! And let it be said that I’m not a strict organic beauty fan, but just love products that are not only beautiful, but good for you (and the environment!), too.

You can find these skincare treats and many other lovely organic products in selected shops worldwide.

In Switzerland, Pretty & Pure, Biomazing, Go Organics, Greenlane, Holistic Beauty, Kosmetikon and Shetime are great places to start!
