Are you ready for one of this year’s most fabulous perfumes? And YES, sillly… I’m talking about the crazy bottle! Moschino, the fashion house known for an ironic wink or two or ninety-seven literally pulled all stops with its newest scent. And that has a lot to do with the fact that wild-child designer Jeremy Scott was in charge of the entire visual process.

Introducing… well… the most luxurious addition to your cleaning cabinet!

Moschino Fresh Couture Eau de Toilette (100 ml/3.4 oz), US$ 82.00

Yep, the good old window cleaner inspired Jeremy to create this highly ironic and eye-catching bottle; one of the coolest, most original packaging concepts I’ve seen in ages!

Moschino, of course, has a slightly more high-brow take on all this and loves playing with the «high-low» concept (just think of their fast-food inspired phone cases!)… and that includes the box for Fresh Couture, which is classically elegant and gives no hint as of what’s hidden inside.

«The concept for this fragrance was to juxtapose the most mundane and commonplace of all products, the household cleaner, with something so precious – the juice of a luxury brand’s fragrance.»

90’s supermodel Linda Evangelista is the face of the TV and print ad campaign, and plays her part perfectly. Scroll down for the ad, and here’s the fun visual, shot by Steven Meisel…

Moschino Fresh Couture Eau de Toilette, fragrance notes

TOP NOTE: Bergamot, mandarine orange and ylang ylang

HEART NOTE: Raspberry, white peony and osmathus

BASE NOTE: Cedar wood, light woods, white patchouli and ambrox

The fusion of fresh, fruity top notes and a really warm, sexy base is pretty new… and slightly risqué. The scent itself is light enough that you can pull of this disparity easily; the effect is fun and quite unique!

The only thing I have to complain about is the fact that the large spray head is purely decorative… lift the cap, and you’ll find a regular nozzle underneath. Shame… it would have been fun!

All in all, «Moschino Fresh Couture» is a fun, highly unique scent that can hold its own, despite the loud packaging. It seems to only be available in the largest (100 ml) size internationally, but in certain European markets, including Switzerland, there are also smaller 30 ml and 50 ml bottles available.

Definitely give it a sniff if you run into it on your next shopping trip!

Moschino Fresh Couture Eau de Toilette is available now, 100ml for roughly US$ 80.00
