Welcome to Hey Pretty! Today, we’re checking out Clarins’ take on a fresh, dewy spring make-up look, so buckle up, smell the spring flowers and come along for the ride!
Clarins «Instant Glow» Spring Makeup Collection 2016
Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid SPF 25 (in four shades), approx. US$ 35.00 (not yet listed internationally!)
I’ve been using this opaque, mattifying BB cream for a few weeks now and really like it! The BB Skin Detox Fluid offers a lot more coverage than your average BB cream, which can be a good thing! The finish is almost on a liquid foundation level, but it’s still sheer enough that you don’t feel like you’re wearing a mask.
Throw in an SPF of 35 and a no-shine formula that lasted well into the afternoon on my relatively oily t-zone and you might have a new favourite here!
Clarins Multi-Blush in Rose, £18.50
This new shade is a beautiful, very fresh almost peachy pink – and gives the perfect hint of a healthy flush. Added plus: It’s quite buildable, if you want more of an effect!
I’m a huge fan of shimmery, but not too outrageous eye shadows, so these are truly right up my alley:
Clarins Iridescent Shadow (in four shades), £19.00
The perfect wash of shimmery, silvery pigment: They look great with a strong lip, mascara and defined brows!
If you prefer eyeshadow palettes (I simply have no more room to store them!), this is a great, basic but not boring version, which is being released in Switzerland as a limited edition, and I’m pretty sure the limited run will be world-wide, so get it while you can:
Clarins Palette 5 Couleurs in Natural Glow, £33.00 (limited edition)
and in real life:
Like I said: A perfect palette for a defined, neutral eye – but the darker, plummy brown shade is perfect for defining and adding a bit of drama!
I was lucky enough to have Clarins Switzerland’s make up artist Sandro Allenbach demonstrate some of their new products RIGHT ON MY FACE (just picture the other beauty editors snickering in the background and enjoying their drinks):
Even though Sandro is using a brush in these photos, he’s usually ALL about the fingers (eeeewwww, not like THAT!) and loves applying Clarins products that way – especially eye shadows.
Here’s me admiring my image and feeling silly, since there were people watching:
Back to the collection!
For the lips, we’ve got four new shades of the lovely Rouge Eclat:
Clarins Rouge Eclat, £19.50 each – top row: Hot Rose (left) und Pink Cherry:
and Pink Blossom und Rose Praline:
I love the coverage and pigment pay-off of these «age defying» lipsticks… and they hydrate pretty well, too!
If you want more of a glossy, rich finish, then you’ll love these babies:
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (in Toffee Pink Shimmer and Plum Shimmer), £18.00 each
I’m actually wearing Plum Shimmer in the picture above: It’s quite a deep shade, to be honest, but adds a nice bit of drama, while really hydrating the lips!
As a closer, I would like to have you take a look at this gorgeous Clarins mobile make-up station. Wouldn’t we ALL love to own one of these?
Sigh. Yes please, I’ll have one!
Here’s a fun clip for the collection – although I really have NO idea why I wasn’t invited as one of the glamourous beauty bloggers, LOL:
I’m sure I would have ROCKED their little video shoot!
