Organic Skincare love, now available in Switzerland: Josh Rosebrook (at Qosms of Namari), Hey Pretty Review

Good morning and happy Monday! It’s hot in here, as summer is still pretty much ON here in Switzerland, but I’m not complaining: These temperatures are pretty fab for September, don’t you think? But enough about the weather, let’s talk about skincare! Natural skincare, to be precise, and I just recently discovered a brand that presses ALL of my clean beauty buttons.

A round of applause for Josh Rosebrook!

This truly lovely brand is finally available in Switzerland, which means I don’t have to bother my friends abroad as much (or exclusively for Nacho Cheese Doritos, now), thanks to Qosms of Namari, a small but excellent Green Beauty paradise in Zurich, right near the main train station.

I’ve been a fan of Josh Rosebrook’s Hydrating Accelerator for some time now and am really happy to talk more about the brand today!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT JOSH ROSEBROOK:

The brand is named after its founder, Josh Rosebrook himself, a former hairstylist and super enthusiastic skincare pro.

The range consists of skin- as well as haircare and follows strict guidelines. His philosophy is to only use the purest and best ingredients, in order to promote the skin’s own healing power. It’s not about over-treating the skin, but to give it what it needs to stay healthy.

Josh is also known for his holistic approach to skincare.

It’s about being nice to oneself and the environment: that’s why you’ll only find plant ingredients, which are 100% organic, certified organic or wild-crafted in his products.

But don’t expect a minimalistic approach – the INCIs are quite long! The brand is known for its complicated and effective formulas, which often contain rare and unexpected ingredients.

If you want to know more about Josh and his brand, I can wholeheartedly recommend this video with beauty blogger Caroline Hirons:

Ah, I just love these two!

And now, let’s have a look at the beautiful product range:

Nutrient Day Cream SPF 30 (30ml), USD 50

Josh Rosebrook Review and Pictures by Hey Pretty Beauty Blog Nutrient Day Cream

This is the very hyped Nutrient Day Cream with SPF 30… and does it live up to the hype? OH YES! It nourishes and protects the skin without leaving a white cast. Plus, it smells like white chocolate. I’ve already re-purchased this one at least five times… it’s that good!

During the summer months, the cream is enough on it’s own for my skin – which makes it a great travel essential. There’s also a tinted version for all of you which are still scared of mineral sunscreen.

Main ingredients are hemp oil, evening primrose and borage as well as rosehip and bilberry.

Vital Balm Cream (22ml), USD 45

I do love me a balm, especially for my nighttime routine. This little pot is filled with botanical hyaluronic acid from Indian Senna Seed, which really locks in the moisture. It has a lovely texture and really effective.

Plus: Pretty, light-blue color!

Are you on the market for a new face mask? Here ya go!

Advanced Hydration Mask (22ml), USD 38

This product is also formulated with botanical hyaluronic acid and is therefore a real hydration hero. The mask is on the heavier side and definitely richer than the Vital Balm Cream.

Josh recommends applying it before taking a bath or shower to protect the skin from drying out. I of course followed his advice and was very impressed with the results. Just apply on clean skin, jump in the shower and afterwords remove the residue with a dry (!) cloth. You now have cleansed, hydrated and super soft skin.

Last but not least, let’s have a look at his hair care range:

Nourish Shampoo und Conditioner (je 240ml), USD 32 each

Same as with skincare, the shampoo and conditioner are formulated with nourishing plant oils which protect and treat the hair. The «Nourish» range cleanses gently and hydrates scalp and hair. Burdock, peppermint and alfalfa stimulate hair growth, sage and chamomile give shine. The conditioner, which is enriched with shea butter and evening primrose oil, is a true treat for dry hair.

I really like this duo – it’s great for my super dry hair and the first hair care range which I don’t have to top up with a leave-in product.

HEY PRETTY’S CONCLUSION:

Josh Rosebrook and his team have created a small product line which not only is sustainable and holistic, but also very effective. The formulas are sophisticated and well thought-through and is a great mixture of art and science. The ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced and of the highest quality.

I’m very happy that Josh Rosebrook products are now available in Switzerland and I’m very keen to know what’s next to come.

Have a great day!
